Motorcycle Classics Writer’s Guidelines

Motorcycle Classics is a bimonthly magazine featuring entertaining and informative articles for riders, collectors and general “lovers” of classic motorcycles. Our readers range in age from their early 20s on up, and while many have been riding motorcycles for years we want Motorcycle Classics to be accessible to even the newest fan of the hobby.

Motorcycle Classics welcomes submissions for our “Dates and Destinations” and “Parting Shots” columns in particular. Many of our feature articles are written by freelance writers, and we’re always looking for good writers. However, we do not assign articles: Writers must be self-starters. If you have an idea for Motorcycle Classics send us a summary of your story along with several photos, succinctly outlining your subject and why readers of Motorcycle Classics would be interested.

We are always looking for quality, original photographs and for photographers interested in shooting photos as assigned.

Submissions for all of the above should be sent via regular mail, or e-mail to lhall@motorcycleclassics.com. High quality photos or original prints accompanying articles are critical. When submitting scanned 35mm prints or digital photos, please send in .jpg file format at high resolution (300 dpi or larger) as an attachment via e-mail or on a disc via mail. To submit by U.S. mail, send materials to the address below.

Tips for potential contributors: Please, PLEASE read and familiarize yourself with our magazine. Articles should be concise, well-written, informative, energetic and well-researched. Photographs should be dynamic and thoughtfully composed, showing an appreciation for the subject matter while conveying necessary information.
